Experian has acquired Credit Data Services Inc., a credit bureau operating in the territories of Western Massachusetts, Vermont and Connecticut.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

CDS was one of a network of credit bureaus that Experian uses to provide clients in specific geographic areas with its consumer credit, business, automotive and marketing information.

"After careful evaluation of credit industry trends, Experian has decided to streamline operations by integrating CDS into the Experian organization," Rick Gallagher, senior vice president of corporate development for Experian, said in a statement.

CDS will continue to operate as a sales agent of Experian.
